Yes. Kontrable supports onboarding both independent freelancers (individuals) and service companies (business entities) on the same platform. When contractors verify during onboarding, we collect the right information for each type—personal details for individuals, business registration and tax ID for companies.

Yes. We partner with Veriff, a trust and verification service used by major platforms globally. Contractors verify their identity (KYC—Know Your Contractor) before they can access contracts or submit requests. Businesses complete business verification (KYB—Know Your Business) during onboarding to confirm they're legitimate entities.

You send payments from your own accounts as usual. Kontrable logs approvals and uses integrations (Plaid for bank transfers, PayPal webhooks, Wise transfers) to detect when money is sent or completed. Both you and your contractors get notifications and can track payment status in real-time through the portal.

The contractor portal is a secure space where contractors can verify their identity, review and sign contracts, add their payout details, submit payment requests, and track payment status. On Starter, they access this via a kontrable.io subdomain. On Pro, it's hosted on your custom domain with your full branding (logo, colors, favicon)—so contractors see your brand, not Kontrable's.

Yes. For US contractors, Kontrable collects W-9 tax forms during onboarding, tracks all payments you send throughout the year, and generates 1099-NEC export data at year-end. You file directly with the IRS or provide the data to your accountant. Kontrable doesn't file the forms—we keep your records organized and export-ready for your filing process.
